Founded in 2011, Blueprint Basketball focuses on basketball skills-training, and off season strength and conditioning for a roster of athletes that has included names such as Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Chris Paul, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Joe Johnson, Serge Ibaka, Jarrett Jack and Shaun Livingston.
Blueprint’s founder and head trainer, Irving Roland, just completed his first season as a player development assistant with the Houston Rockets.
A native of Oklahoma City, Roland played college basketball at Carl Albert State College and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He began working in the NBA as a basketball operations intern with the Boston Celtics in 2004. Next, he worked as assistant video coordinator (2005-06) for the New Orleans Hornets before being named the team’s video coordinator (2006-10), a position he held for four seasons under head coach Byron Scott. In 2010 Irving then moved to Miami where he would eventually start BluePrint Basketball. After 3 years in Miami he then took a player development position with the Phoenix Suns where he stayed from 2013-16.
